Content
Also called: copy or copying
The content of a Web site is also called content. Content includes all text, images, videos and any other content of an Internet site.
Content includes the message to be conveyed with a Web site. It can be purely informational or, for example, intended to sell a product or service. In addition to the content itself, the form determines the effectiveness of the content.
Content management and tools
Many Web sites use a content management system (CMS) to easily manage their content. To ensure that files such as images and downloads load quickly, a content delivery network (CDN) is often deployed. For companies that regularly publish new content, it can be helpful to create a content calendar. This allows publications on the website and social media to be conveniently scheduled and coordinated.
Content and online findability
A website's content is also an important factor in a site's findability in search engines such as Google. These are constantly searching the Internet for new information. The content helps to determine what a website is about. Hence the saying: "content is king". When an identical text appears on several web pages, it is called duplicate content.
A physical reproduction of a book, document, film or piece of music is called a hard copy.
