Google Search
Also known as: Google Search
Google Search is the search engine developed by Google. This search engine is the activity that created Google as a company and made it big. Then Stanford students Sergei Brin and Larry Page started a research project in 1996 that mapped the Internet under the name BackRub. This helped develop new ideas about ranking search results such as PageRank. In 1997, a first version of search engine Google was launched.
Thanks to investors, Page and Brin managed to expand their search engine. Many Internet users discovered that Google showed much better results than the other search engines at the time. Google has since become one of the largest and most innovative Internet companies. The search engine is still one of the most important parts of the company and an authority for search on the worldwide Web.
In the Dutch search engine market, Google Search has a share of about 95 percent and is in fact the only search engine of significance.
