Touchscreen
Also called: touch screen
Touschscreens are a special type of display that are sensitive to touch. The user of a touchscreen can control the user interface by touching with the fingers or a special kind of pen (a stylus).
The touch screen usually serves as a replacement for a mouse cursor. A virtual keyboard also allows the user to type through the screen.
Virtually all smartphones and tablets are equipped with a touchscreen. Touchscreens are also increasingly common on laptops and "regular" computer screens these days. Finally, touchscreens are also popping up in public spaces, for example in the form of advertising pillars and in payment terminals for debit, travel or parking.
