Smartphone
A smartphone is a cell phone equipped with more computing power and a more comprehensive operating system than a regular phone. A smartphone provides access to the Internet and it is possible to extend the functionality of the phone as desired through apps.
The smartphone is basically a cross between a cell phone and a palmtop computer. Almost all smartphones are equipped with a touch screen(touchscreen), GPS and a camera. Access to the Internet is possible over the mobile provider 's 3G or 4G network as well as via wireless Internet(WiFi).
Well-known developers of smartphones are Apple (iPhone), Samsung, LG, Blackberry and HTC. Popular operating systems are iOS (Apple), Android (Gooogle) and Windows Phone (Microsoft). Phones that lack the more extensive features of a smartphone are also called dumbphones.
