The homepage is the home page of a website on the Internet. The term literally means "home page. The home page welcomes visitors and entices them to click through to a follow-up page. In addition to an introductory text, the homepage often contains a preview of the rest of the site, equipped with click-through options.
The homepage may well not be the first page a visitor views while visiting a Web site. Through a search engine or external link, the visitor may also enter through another page. In that case, the visitor can still click through to the homepage (via a home option in the menu) to continue his visit from there.
Personal homepage
Homepage is also the name for a personal website.
