Also called: header or eyecatcher
A eye-catcher is a catchy headline or opening sentence of a text or advertisement. The purpose of the eye-catcher is to arouse the reader's curiosity and thus hold their attention.
In recruiting texts, we distinguish three different phases: eye-catcher, argument and bouncer. These phases are consistent with the AIDA model, which aims to convince a reader to take an action.
