ZZP
ZZP stands for Self-employed Without Personnel. A ZZP is someone who works for themselves and does not employ staff. ZZP'ers can work in a variety of industries, such as construction, IT, healthcare and creative professions. As a self-employed person, you are responsible for your own business. This means that you have to find clients, win orders and keep your own records. You are also responsible for your own insurance and pension accrual.
Pros and cons of self-employment
Being self-employed has many advantages, including flexibility and freedom. You can set your own working hours and choose which assignments you take on. But there are also disadvantages, such as uncertainty about income and no paid vacations or sick leave.
ZZP'ers must register with the Chamber of Commerce and apply for a VAT number. Good financial planning and administration are important to be successful as a ZZP'er. It is a popular form of employment in the Netherlands, with more and more people choosing self-employment.
