In this situation, Keyword Hero is a handy tool. In this blog, I'll walk you through what Keyword Hero does, how to install it and how to make the most of it.
Keyword Hero is a clever tool that brings back visibility to hidden keyword data in Google Analytics. It links data from Google Search Console to your Analytics account, allowing you to see exactly which keywords are generating traffic and conversions.
But for whom is that useful? Think SEO specialists who want to link keywords to performance, business owners who want insight into what customers are searching for, or marketers who want to create targeted campaigns.
In short, if you are serious about SEO, Keyword Hero is a good addition.
Before you get started, there are a three things you need to have ready. If you don't do this, installing Keyword Hero is of no use.
Make sure you have access to the right view. In Google Analytics, this means having a property set up that collects your data and using an "Explorations" or specific report suitable for analysis with external tools such as Keyword Hero.
Don't know how to link your website to Google Analytics? Then you can read one of my previously written articles. Choose for yourself which one you are more comfortable with.
This must be linked to your website. Make sure the correct property is verified in Search Console and that it matches the website you want to analyze in Keyword Hero.
If you haven't linked your website to Google Search Console yet, you can read my guide called: ' Guide: Creating Google Search Console and Adding Your Website Correctly'. In it, I explain step by step how to do this easily.
You don't have to be an expert, but it's helpful if you know how to view different reports and how to access the right settings. For example, think about creating custom views or setting filters.
Also note: Keyword Hero creates an additional view in your Analytics account. This ensures that your original data remains intact. And yes, there is a free version, but it has limitations, such as a maximum of 2,000 sessions per month.
Keyword Hero links data from Google Analytics and Google Search Console. Because you have already created these accounts, installing Keyword Hero is a snap.
How to do that? I'll explain that to you step by step right now. Within two minutes you will be ready.
Step 1: Go to Keyword Hero' s website and click 'Sign up / Log in' in the upper right corner.
Step 2: Log in with the Google account to which Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Search Console is linked.
Step 3: Click on "Add Domain" in the upper right corner.

Step 4: In the 'Accounts' column, select which account you want linked, in the 'Properties & Apps' column which property you want linked and in the 'views' column which view you want linked.
Step 5: Under 'Select tracking' select the conversion you want to know about and click 'Next'

Step 6: Select the correct domain by clicking on 'Select' and pay close attention that it exactly matches your website.
Then click "Next.
Step 7: At the bottom, click "Create.

Then select the appropriate Google Account again.
Step 8: Select a paid plan (Because otherwise you can't measure conversions) and click Next.

Step 9: Wait 24 hours for your first data to be displayed and enter your email address if you would like to receive a report of Keyword Hero results every week.
Now that you've installed Keyword Hero, you're probably wondering how best to use the data. Keyword Hero gives you insight into the keywords that drive traffic to your site, but how do you know which keywords really convert?
