Revenue per mille
Also known as: RPM
Revenue per mille (RPM) refers to the effective average revenue per 1,000 impressions of online ads. If ad placement is paid for based on the number of clicks(CPC) or conversion(CPA) then this revenue is often converted to a result per 1,000 views of the banner or text link.
The RPM can be calculated by dividing the total revenue by the number of impressions divided by 1000. The result of the same math on the advertiser's cost side is called eCPM.
