Translating a website can be a time-consuming and complicated process. Fortunately, there is now a tool that makes this process a lot easier: Clonable.
In this blog, I'll explain how Clonable works, what its benefits are, and how you can use it to translate your website quickly and efficiently.
Clonable entered the market in 2021 as an innovative tool that allows you to clone your existing website and automatically translate it into some 40 other languages.
This means you can make your website accessible to international audiences without extensive technical knowledge or time-consuming manual translations.
The process of Clonable is very easy and consists of a few simple steps.
First, your current Web site is cloned. This means creating an exact copy of your website.
It then automatically translates this clone into the desired language(s). Clonable uses a translation technology they have developed themselves, this allows the tool to deliver accurate and contextual translations.
The tool works based on your website's code. Do you change something on the original? Then the Clonable software picks it up and applies it to the clone.
Thus, changes are made automatically on the translated websites, even if the page already exists.
This ensures that all translated versions of your website remain up-to-date. So if you change one line on the original domain, this change is automatically applied everywhere.
And remember! Control is not distrust, but I'll come back to that in a moment.
One of the biggest advantages of Clonable is the tremendous time savings due to how the tool works.
Manual static translations of websites take a lot of time. Not to mention keeping track of these versions. All that hassle is truly a thing of the past with Clonable.
Suppose you have three clones and you create a page on the original domain, Clonable ensures that that new page is translated almost instantly into the languages of your clones.
In addition to saving time, Clonable also saves on costs. After all, you don't have to hire outside parties or a team of translators.
For this reason, Clonable's machine translation is a cost-effective solution for companies of various sizes.
Clonable performs automatic updates to all cloned versions of your websites. This keeps content consistent, which is important for a professional look and user experience.
In addition, Clonable ensures that translated websites are search engine friendly. This means that each language version of your website is optimized for search engines, which in turn can help improve the visibility and findability of your website.
Even before you have to start manually translating all the meta descriptions and titles, Clonable has already implemented that long and wide.
Getting started with Clonable is very simple. Here are the steps to follow to translate your website.
First, you need to create an account on the Clonable website. Then you link the website you want translated and to which language the clone should be translated.
Note that there is a difference in website with and without e-commerce.
Follow the instructions on the website, YouTube or have OMA do all the steps for you to clone your website. This process can be done in no time, but secure websites or specific applications require some additional steps.
Then you make the choice of plan (subscription) within Clonable. After the translations are completed, you can publish, index and optimize the translated versions of your website.
Please note that some parts puns, proverbs, slang and company related statements are not always translated quite nicely. These kinds of statements should be checked and manually adjusted if necessary, which, by the way, is why I mentioned earlier in the text that checking is not distrust.
It has never been easier, thanks to Clonable, to translate your website. Clonable offers, in my opinion, the best solution for both small and large companies looking to expand into new international markets.
So start today and make your website accessible to a global audience.
Wondering what OMA can do for you or just want to know more about Clonable? Don't hesitate and contact us, we'd love to help you out!
Clonable works with translation credits. Each plan has a certain amount of these credits that can be used for translation. The larger the website, the more credits you need.
Within Clonable you have two options: subfolders or another domain. With a subfolder you don't have to do much yourself, Clonable simply puts the subfolder (e.g. /en/) after the domain. Another domain you have to change via hosting and DNS.
For sure, we are happy to take over the work! We know exactly what to do, what is possible and also check behind the scenes that everything is implemented properly.

It sounds interesting, but before we make a decision to go with this we want to know more about the costs. I don't read anything about that in the story.
Like to add with a financial section for each language.
Thanks for your comment! For Clonable's prices, please refer to their website. This is because it depends on several factors.
