Repurchase
Also called: repurchase or buyback
Repurchase is the buying back of goods that were previously sold or owned. You could think of it as a form of repurchase, but often on a larger scale and often for different reasons.
Sample situation of a repurchase
The concept of repurchase serves, for example, in the trading of shares, companies and real estate. In specific cases, the (initial) right to repurchase is already contractually established at the time of sale. A company may repurchase its own shares to allow shareholders to achieve the desired return and to give the remaining shareholders more control. When business units are sold, not infrequently the option to buy back the unit is created, for example, to protect the competitive position.
