Until I decided to post a call on LinkedIn asking if my network used any useful online marketing apps.

My initial list got bigger and bigger and I got the idea of dividing the apps into categories.

Due to the variety of apps, I also let that idea slide.

So see here: not 10, but 40 useful apps that make online marketing easier!

1. Google Analytics

As a big SEO enthusiast, I can't help but start with an app from Google.

The Google Analytics app puts all the important data from Google Analytics in your pocket.

Ideal if you still want to know how many leads you brought in while on vacation.

Download link Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.giant&hl=nl

2. Google My Company

Your Google My Business listing will show up when you search on your business name or when you look in Google Maps.

One way you can manage this listing is through the Google My Business App!

You can update all the information, change opening hours, see exactly how many times your website has been clicked on, post a Google Post and much more.

Pro tip: Since November 2018, Google My Company has had a chat feature that allows you to communicate directly with your customers!

3. Facebook

Founded in 2004, Facebook is still terribly popular in 2019.

With still about 10 million users in the Netherlands, it is still one of the most popular social media channels in the Netherlands.

Facebook is used for both business and personal purposes and is a real must if you are involved in online marketing.

And so does the app.

Download link Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.facebook.katana&hl=nl

4. Pinterest

Pinterest's market share has been on the rise for years and the platform is becoming increasingly popular.

Advertising on Pinterest has also been possible since this year, making the platform a lot more interesting for online marketers and their clients.

Pinterest is not only a social media channel where images are shared, but you can also think of it as a kind of search engine for inspiration and creative ideas.

Download link Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pinterest&hl=nl

5. LinkedIn

Currently, this is my favorite social media channel.

For both job searching, bringing in leads, your personal branding, getting and staying in touch with people, LinkedIn is the channel of choice.

LinkedIn is a kind of business version of Facebook.

But without all the cat pictures, memes and the annoying uncles and aunts ;).

If you are not yet using LinkedIn in 2019, this is something that should be at the top of your priority list!

And there's an app of course.

Download link Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.linkedin.android&hl=nl

6. X (Twitter)

Social media channels are not the nicest apps to describe from this list, but they simply must be mentioned because social media can be an essential part of your content or overall online marketing strategy.

X (formerly, therefore, Twitter) its market share has admittedly been declining for years, and since Elon Musk's takeover, things have not improved. Freedom of speech may be back, but major advertisers have pulled out and as yet have not returned. In the process, the number of users is also declining

Meanwhile, I know of very few entrepreneurs and organizations that actively use Twitter, so if you still do (and get results from doing so), I'd love to hear about it!

Download link Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.twitter.android&hl=nl

7. Instagram

Part of Facebook since 2012, Instagram is a channel where the focus is on sharing and liking visual content: images and videos.

The difference with Instagram and other channels is that the content is very "fast" and sometimes only available for some time.

Instagram works especially well for companies that sell B2C products, for example, and is the platform for influencer marketing alongside YouTube.

Download link Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.instagram.android&hl=nl

8. Snapchat

We have arrived at the last social media channel from this list!

Snapchat is the platform for children and young adults.

Let's say, people up to about 25 years old.

Since it has already been possible to advertise within Snapchat since 2017, this platform is also very interesting for companies with a young target audience.

9. Facebook Page Management

Now that we've gotten past the social media "musts," let's move on to the apps that can make online marketing really easier for you again.

Starting with Facebook Page Management!

Facebook Page Management is the app to manage all your Facebook pages.

Think about switching between all your pages, posting, customizing, responding to direct messages and much more.

The big advantage of the Facebook Page Management app is that it is completely separate from the regular Facebook app and it offers many more options to get the most out of your (business) page.

Download link Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.facebook.pages.app&hl=nl

10. Hootsuite

Hootsuite is one of the most popular social media management tools available on the market today.

With Hootsuite, you can schedule posts, monitor your social media channels, track what people are saying about your business and much more.

Opinions are divided when you read reviews about Hootsuite and the Hootsuite app, so my advice is that you just experience Hootsuite for yourself and then decide whether you find it useful ... or not.

Download link iOS: https://apps.apple.com/nl/app/hootsuite/id341249709
Download link Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hootsuite.droid.full&hl=nl

11. WordPress

For anyone with a WordPress website: there is a handy WordPress app!

This handy app allows you to publish posts and pages, respond to comments within your blog and customize your website in no time.

The WordPress app is particularly interesting for bloggers, for example, but not when you write big monster articles like this one.

You'd rather do that on a laptop anyway.

Canva is a largely free program that allows anyone to create a fantastic business card, birthday card, Facebook cover, Instagram Stories or other visual in minutes.

Both the desktop version and the app of Canva are very easy to work with, that really anyone could work with it.

Surely, as a content marketer, this should be one of the tools you use just about every day!

13. BeFunky

BeFunky can also be thought of as a kind of free Photoshop, but with slightly fewer features

The big advantage of BeFunky is that it is incredibly user-friendly.

This applies to both the desktop version and the app!

14. MailChimp

When I had the idea to write a blog about online marketing related apps, I came to 14.

And number 14, that was MailChimp.

The following apps were all submitted by my LinkedIn connections and their networks.

Back to MailChimp.

MailChimp is an email marketing program pure and simple and is perhaps the best-known program in its industry.

You can simply use MailChimp to set up a nice newsletter and send it to all your readers.

It requires no technical or graphic knowledge, and you can immediately see how often your e-mail is read.

MailChimp's mobile app has pretty much all the features as the desktop version, making it perfect if you want to quickly send out an email or check how well your campaigns are doing.

Download link iOS: https://apps.apple.com/nl/app/mailchimp/id366794783

20. Asana

Strange that I hadn't added Asana to the list, as it is also my project management tool.

Asana works perfectly for people who love lists.

You can very easily add new teams, new projects and new tasks.

By now I have used quite a few project management tools, but personally I find Asana to be the best and nicest.

Asana is suitable for the self-employed among us, as well as for large organizations with large staffs.

In fact, Asana is incredibly scalable.

26. Pocket

Pocket is sort of a combination of Feedly, Braintoss and Evernote.

In fact, Pocket allows you to save the content that passes throughout the day and then view it whenever you want.

You can do all this within a private environment that, if you wish, can resemble an e-reader of sorts.

In addition, it is also possible to have the content spoken and even accessed offline.

36. Semrush

If you read my blogs more often, you know that I am a fan of Semrush.

Semrush is, in my opinion, one of the very best SEO tools on the market.

And since Semrush is launching an awful lot of new tools, I expect the popularity will only go up.

I myself did not know that Semrush also owns an app ... but so it is now on my phone!

With the Semrush app, you can't do everything the desktop version can, but you can do a lot.

So definitely worth a try!

And I wanted to leave it at that.

Although, of course, it's just a handy little app.

39. Google Ads

Advertising within Google (Google Ads) is, of course, the counterpart of SEO.

Both channels have both their advantages and disadvantages, although I am more of a fan of SEO.

Tracking, optimizing and adjusting your Google Ads campaigns is, in some cases, a daily or weekly chore.

So incredibly convenient if you can do that on-the-go with the Google Ads app.
