Several competitors have since emerged, but they all work slightly differently, and AnswerThePublic is still the market leader.
Since I think every entrepreneur and marketer should know the tool, it's high time to tell you all about it.
AnswerThePublic is a program that gives you input for your content strategy and keyword analysis by combining and automatically completing human search queries.
You will see the results divided into five topics. The topics are:
With AnswerThePublic's output, you can then determine your headings, pick blog topics, set up social media posts, generate ideas and much more.
I use AnwerThePublic in several ways for my website and those of my clients. Some of those ways I'll note for you:
First, I use the tool during an orientation phase. For example, think keyword analysis, analyzing competitors. During this phase, I want to find as much information about the topic as possible.
The second way is when I am then in the process of writing texts. As you may already know, I am a fan of determining the headings and therefore the topics of your blog before you write a text.
Should I need some more headings or want to know more about the topic, I grab AnswerThePublic.
Way three is when I don't know the target audience very well yet. What is someone thinking? What does he or she look for? What does he or she think is important? Those are all things you can find out with AnswerThePublic.
As you've come to expect from me, I like to list the pros and cons for you. And we'll start with the advantages:
And the disadvantages are:
And that's a great bridge to the next topic: namely, is it worth purchasing AnswerThePublic Pro?
AnwserThePublic Pro costs, if you pay monthly, $99 per month.
And if you pay by the year, it will cost you $79 a month. Both of which, by the way, I think are a lot of money for what you get.
In fact, you get the following extra:
Sure, there are nice extra features among them, but in the two years I've been using AnswerThePublic, I've never for a second thought I'd need the Pro.
And if I haven't already, you certainly haven't.
Then you're better off spending that $79 a month on a Mangools or SEMrush account.
In recent years, I have not come across a tool that can do what AnswerThePublic can or that does what AnswerThePublic does.
That is not to say they are not there, just that I have not encountered them.
There are, however, two tools I know of that are similar to AnswerThePublic:
The Entity Explorer shows entities that are relevant to your target audience. Thus, you can also easily determine new topics for your blog.
Entities are an important part of semantic search. It is difficult to explain this succinctly, but simply put, it means that that Google not only understands the words, but also the content and content around them.
Simple example: Google understands that a t-shirt can match a washing machine, but it can also match soccer. And those are both different entities.
Also Asked is incredibly similar to AnswerThePublic, only the tool works completely differently.
In fact, Also Asked does not show suggestions, but literally shows what people have ALSO filled out.
So if anyone ever filled out something about Star Wars, that means they kept track of what else they filled out (and what is relevant to the topic).
And that will look like this.
Again, you can deploy this in the same way I described earlier.
My conclusion is really quite simple: get started with AnswerThePublic. It should become a habit to apply the tool in your content strategy, during your keyword analysis and while blogging.
Since there are a few features in the Pro version and not in the free version, which are useful, unfortunately I cannot give a 10 ...
But I do end this AnswerThePublic review with a 9.5/10!
